BC Day 115 – 118

Friday April 22 to Monday April 25, 2011

This weekend I headed up to Kamloops to visit my family for Easter.  Over the weekend, we also headed to Revelstoke for closing weekend.  While I took a ton of photos, I’m not going to put all of them on here, so see Facebook if you want to see more of them.

The weekend was awesome and I got to see a ton of the province.  It was also fun hanging out with my cousins and aunt and uncle.  The weather was great and we did a ton of stuff.

It was hard to believe you could still ski based on the amount of snow at the base of the hill.

BC Day 112

Tuesday April 19, 2011

Today I headed up to Whistler with August and his brother to use my bungee jumping groupon that I bought back in January.  On the way up, we decided to stop in Squamish at the Chief to do a little hiking.

While we didn’t make it all the way up to the top of the hill because we had to get to Whistler on time, we did get a pretty good view from where we were.

Bungee jumping in Whistler was awesome.

BC Day 110

Sunday April 17, 2011

This morning I entered the Vancouver Sun Run, Canada’s largest 10km run.  Since I hadn’t originally planned on entering the race, I was forced to run under an alias.  I managed to do okay considering I had no training, and finished the race in just under an hour.

Since my legs felt okay later in the afternoon, I headed out with Alex in West Van.  While he had originally planned on going fishing, it was pretty windy and we ended up calling it quits early and grabbing some sushi.

BC Day 109

Saturday April 16, 2011

After about a week of rain, I was finally able to emerge from my house and enjoy some sun.  Since the weather was so nice, August and I headed out to do a little fishing at the Jericho Beach pier.

While fishing, we were able to see a sea otter.  I was amazed with the size of the animal.  I had never realized quite how huge they were from looking at posters.  I should note, that while sea otters look quite cute on posters, I would definitely be afraid to mess with one based on the one I saw.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a picture of it.

BC Day 102 and 103

Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10, 2011

Rain, rain, and more rain!

Unfortunately, the weather for this weekend and the upcoming week isn’t the nicest.  Since that’s the case, I decided to stay inside for the most part and do my taxes.

Crows tend to be a pretty serious problem in  my area and are always tearing up everyone’s lawn.  I laughed when I walked by one of the nearby houses and saw the sign below.  Sorry about the picture quality, it was taken on a dull day with my cellphone.

These people have had enough.

Because of the rain, I was also able to spend some time inside cooking.  I blended a little Indian and Greek together on one occasion.

Paneer curry with tomato and cucumber salad.
